Step into our office

Remember that rush of excitement you got when you landed your last job?

But now it’s a few years in, and you’re feeling … well, not quite so excited, to say the least. Why is it so hard to stay engaged in a role a few years in?

Maybe you’ve got a boss that you don’t vibe with, or maybe your team just feels a little bit off.

It’s not just you: stats show that a whopping 77% of people are disengaged at work*.

Welcome to Out Of Office

We help demystify what causes disengagement, helping you find more growth and balance at work.

We wanted to create a space where people could talk openly about disengagement and the challenges they face at work.

We share real, honest conversations (that you won’t find on LinkedIn) to help you navigate tricky situations in the office and find more growth and balance in your career.

THINGS WE LIKE TO TALK ABOUT

  • What to do when you’re feeling disengaged at work

  • How to manage up, whilst maintaining your sanity

  • Navigating change and advocating for yourself in the office

  • Finding the elusive work/life balance

Join the Community

We’re building a community on Substack (it’s nice over there, promise). We’ll be writing a monthly newsletter tackling some of the key suspects of disengagement- like how to work with an annoying boss, or how to survive in a workplace that feels like it’s falling apart.

Read the newsletter, ask questions and chat with us directly.

Hey, I’m Alex.

I’ve spent the past decade working at some pretty epic companies like Red Bull, Squarespace and Quiksilver.

I honestly thought each role was my dream role at the start, and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. But then after a while, the cracks started to show. Reorgs. Bad bosses. Redundancies. Missed promotions… the list goes on.

Over the years, I’ve worked with coaches, done courses and read countless books to help with some of the challenges. But at the end of the day, nothing beats chatting with someone that just gets it.
